Often times, events that involve the word “culture” consist of its audience just observing what the culture is instead of actually experiencing it. CultureFest is here to change that.
CultureFest ’19 is the first-ever cross cultural festival at Sewanee collaborating with a multitude of different organizations on campus. OCCU (the Organization for Cross-Cultural Understanding) hopes to shed light on the eclectic shades of diversity that exist on campus and invites the whole community to take a trip around the world right here on campus. Food, games, performances, prizes and so much more will take place on the Quad (on University Avenue next to All Saints’) on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 2–5 p.m. DJ Vello Virkhaus will offer up a variety of international music. An international-themed dinner will follow at McClurg dining hall afterwards beginning at 5 p.m.
