The Sewanee Woman’s Club will host Ranger George Shinn, manager of South Cumberland State Park, at their meeting on Monday, March 8. The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church. CDC guidelines and social distancing will be in place. Please wear a mask.
George Shinn is the manager of South Cumberland State Park. His career working in the state park system began in 1996 at Fall Creek Falls State Park. He then moved to the Bicentennial Mall State Park, next to the Savage Gulf State Park Natural Area, and finally to South Cumberland in 2013.
His goal is to make the many wilderness areas of South Cumberland be the crown jewel of the Tennessee State Park System. On Monday, March 8, he hopes to inspire the members of the SWC to get outside and enjoy the plateau’s beauty.
