Thanksgiving Meal Made Easy


Are you feeling stressed about cooking a traditional Thanksgiving meal this year? 

Emily Wallace, the Executive Chef at St. Mary’s Sewanee: The Ayres Center for Spiritual Development, is once again creating a delicious Thanksgiving meal that she prepares and you take home and serve.  Wallace has done this for five years, each time with more and more people taking part. All proceeds benefit the programs of St. Mary’s Sewanee.

The meal, which generously serves six people, consists of sliced roasted turkey breast and gravy, traditional dressing (made of homemade cornbread and homemade biscuits), a savory cranberry relish, a light sweet potato soufflé, green bean casserole made entirely from scratch, and rolls. The entire meal is $80. All side items are also available for purchase; call for more information on pricing and sizes. For dessert, Wallace is making deep dish Southern-style pecan pie ($12) and pumpkin pie ($9.50).  

The deadline for ordering a meal is noon, Tuesday, Nov. 19. Meals will be available for pick-up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 26 or 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27 at St. Mary’s Sewanee.
