American Legion 

American Legion Post 51 will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, in the Legion Hall on University Avenue in Sewanee. 

South Cumberland Conservative Network

On Saturday, Oct. 12, the speaker will be Christie Shaw, Education Specialist with “Decisions Choices & Options in Southern TN.” Please join us at 300 1st Ave., NW, Winchester. The meet and greet is at 5:30–6 p.m., with light refreshments and the program beginning at 6 p.m.

Coffee with the Coach

Coffee with the Coach, an opportunity to learn more about Sewanee’s sports teams, continues at 9 a.m., Monday, Oct. 14, with Vice-Chancellor John McCardell. Gather at the Blue Chair Tavern for free coffee and conversation.

Sewanee Woman’s Club

The Sewanee Woman’s Club will meet on Monday, Oct. 14, at 11:30 a.m. for social time and for lunch at noon. The program will begin at 12:30 p.m. The Program title is “Arabs & Arab-Americans:  A Conversation in Diversity—Making Every Voice Count.” May Kamalick will present this interactive program that explores a specific segment of immigrants, Arabs and Arab-Americans. We look forward to May’s presentation that will foster diversity and enhance understanding.

Monteagle City Council

There will be a special called meeting at 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14, at City Hall in Monteagle.

Franklin County School Board

The Franklin County School Board will meet at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14, at the Franklin County Board of Education Building, 215 S. College St., Winchester.

EQB Meeting

Members of the EQB Club will gather at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, at St. Mary’s Sewanee. Lunch will be served at noon.

Rotary Club Meetings

The Grundy County Rotary Club meets at 11:30 a.m., Tuesdays at Dutch Maid Bakery in Tracy City. 

The Monteagle-Sewanee Rotary Club will meet at 8 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Sewanee Inn. Andy Baggenstoss will present the program on Grundy County Tourism.

UDC Kirby-Smith Chapter 327 Sewanee

The UDC Kirby-Smith Chapter 327 Sewanee will meet at the Oak Restaurant in Manchester, at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19. 

SUD Meeting

The Sewanee Utility District of Franklin and Marion Counties Board of Commissioners will have its regular meeting at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the utility office on Sherwood Road. The Board of Commissioners for the Sewanee Utility District will be discussing whether to cease feeding fluoride in the drinking water. If a customer is unable to attend but wishes to bring a matter to the board, call 598-5611, visit the office, or call a board member. Sewanee Community Council

The next meeting of the Community Council is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Senior Citizens’ Building. Items for the agenda should be submitted to the Provost’s office by noon on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
