Franklin County Democratic Women Meeting
The Franklin County Democratic Women will sponsor a meet and greet with State Senate candidate Sheila Younglove on Saturday, July 11. Sheila is running against incumbent Janice Bowling. The event will be from 9-11 a.m. at the home of Sandy Rice, 201 Kentucky Ave., Sewanee. Masks are required and social distancing will be possible throughout the yard. Suggested donation is $100 but any amount is welcome. You may also meet Sheila “virtually” through social media and making a donation at or Facebook Sheila Younglove for State Senate.

Franklin County School Board
The Franklin County School Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m., Monday, July 13, at the Franklin County Board of Education conference room.

Rotary Club Meeting
The Monteagle-Sewanee Rotary will meet at 8 a.m., Thursday, July 16, at the Sewanee Inn.The meeting will also be available to members and interested guests via Zoom transmission. Guest speaker will be Christi Teasley with the Grundy County Arts Council. To eat breakfast at the Sewanee Inn, contact May Kamalick on Monday each week to make a reservation.

The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee is offering a free legal clinic 3–5 p.m., Thursday, July 23. The clinic will offer legal advice about criminal record expungements and voting rights and civil rights restoration. Deadline to sign up is July 10.
