Veterans Memorial Day Service 


The Memorial Service for Franklin County’s Veterans who have died in service to our country during combat will be at 10 a.m. on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2020, at the Franklin County Memorial Gardens on the Cowan-Winchester Highway.

All health and safety rules will be adhered to during the service (distancing, masks, etc.) In contrast to former years, only water will be available for guests, as food items might create a safety issue due to the current situation.

The Invocation and Benediction will be offered by, The Rev. Charley Watkins, U.S. Army (Captain) of Sewanee. The welcome, introduction of speakers, reading of the Franklin County War Dead, and closing ceremonies will be by SFC Michael D. Foster, U.S. Army/Retired. Speakers will be Sgt. Maj. (E-9) Larry E. Williams, U.S. Army/Retired, and Col. Alan Clark, U.S. Army/Retired.  Taps will be played by Bobby Clark, U.S.A.F.  and FC Veterans’ Service Officer. All are welcome.
