On July 13 and July 14, folks are asked to come to the Stoker-Stampfli Farm Museum in Gruetli-Laager for a day of work on the farm. Work will start each morning at 9 a.m. and last as long as anyone is willing to work. Some of the jobs include cleaning the house and out buildings, removing wood from the floors of barns and other buildings, building a work bench in the shop, painting the shelves in the membership booth, raking, trimming trees and repairing metal roofs. Bring a bag lunch.
The celebration of 150 years since Swiss families settled the Colony of Gruetli will be on Saturday, July 27. There will be music by the Mountain Polka Band, food vendors, craft vendors, and tours of the farm and historical documents. The program starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.
